The Blue Cuckoo Marans is a beautiful and hard-to-find chicken. The Marans breed originates from Marans, France, and is cold-tolerant. It is a decent forager that can also do well in confined quarters. The Blue Cuckoo Marans has shades of blue as the primary feather color with varying degrees of cuckoo patterning. The comb is a medium-sized single comb. Blue Cuckoo Marans will have a mix of feathered and non-feathered legs. Hens may lay an average of 3-5 brown eggs each week.
Due to our breeding program, Blue Cuckoo Marans chicks will be "blue" and not have splash or black feathering. The shade of blue will vary.
Average mature weight: Roosters, 8.5 lbs; hens 7 lbs.
