This breed originated in France and is also known as a “French Hen.” Flaunting a spectacular full crest, muffs and beard this unique five-toed white egg layer is ideal for show or as a pet. Its large crest impairs it’s vision a bit, therefore free range is not recommended where predators are an issue. Mottled Houdans are ideal as a backyard pet and or show bird due to its stunning appearance and docile personality. Houdans lay 3-5 white eggs on average each week.
