Assorted Muscovy Day Old Ducklings
IMPORTANT ORDERING DETAILS: Waterfowl have a minimum of 3 and you are able to mix and match among ducks and goose breeds to meet this minimum. Waterfowl will ship on Tuesday or Wednesday, USPS priority mail, and arrive 1-3 days later. Waterfowl are not able to be picked up as they are sent from our hatching partner. Sorry, we are not able to ship Muscovy's to the states of North Dakota or Florida due to local fish and game regulations.
This is a duckling assortment containing a hatchery choice mix of straight-run black and white Muscovy ducklings. Please be aware there is no guarantee you will receive an even mix of both colors. The Black Muscovy Ducks will not be solid black. They will likely have some white markings on their heads and a lovely greenish hue on their backs when exposed to bright sunlight.
Muscovy ducks are generally calm and friendly, make good mothers, and are quieter than other ducklings. While they make excellent pets, they are commonly raised for their lean meat, as they are nearly 98 percent fat-free and not greasy. Additionally, they can be used to help control fly and mosquito populations. Muscovy ducks are capable of flight and often find refuge in trees, providing natural protection from predators.
Muscovy ducks will lay 100-150 eggs annually after about 6 months of age. It is important to note that Muscovy duck eggs take approximately 35 days to hatch versus 28 days for other varieties of ducks. The Muscovy male ducklings have the potential to reach 12 lbs at 12 weeks of age. The mature weight of female Muscovy ducklings averages about 8 pounds.
When receiving shipped Muscovy Ducks, please exercise caution with the amount of water they are allowed to drink upon arrival. Allow them to drink for about 15 minutes, then remove their water for about 15 minutes. Repeat this 3-4 times before giving them full access to drinking water. They are shipped with a double batch of grogel to help keep them hydrated during shipping.
