Wyandotte chickens are wide-bodied birds known for their docile personality and good egg-laying capabilities. Since these are Heritage Wyandotes, they will begin laying eggs around 7-10 months of age and be fully mature around 18 months of age. Once they are fully mature, they will exhibit their full-body shape and penciled feather patterns. Wyandottes are hardy in all climates but very popular in colder climates due to their compact rose comb. They will lay 4 to 6 eggs weekly. You can read more about the Wyandotte chicken on our Breed Spotlight over on the Meyer Hatchery blog.
Exhibition-level genetics does not mean that every chick hatched will perfectly meet the standard. The chicks you receive will be a good representation of the breed and are the offspring of exhibition-level genetics. It is impossible to produce flawless or show quality birds every time and as a responsible breeder, you are responsible for which chicks you choose to keep for your blood lines. There are no refunds for imperfections.
