Like all Marans, our Splash Marans Chickens lay a darker brown egg, though it is not nearly as dark as the Black Copper Marans. Eggs will always be the darkest at the beginning of the laying cycle and lighten slightly, then return to the darkest color after a period of rest. Splash Marans are a good dual-purpose breed. They are hardy, friendly, and good foragers. You can expect 4-6 brown eggs each week from the Splash Marans.
