Polish Chicken are quite the unique breed. With their fun crest of feathers and v-shaped combs, the Polish are a popular breed for exhibition and make great pets. Blue Polish chickens will have either all blue or all black feathers and will lay around 2-5 small to medium size white eggs each week making them a good option for a backyard layer.
Polish Chickens are named for their crest which resembles the feathered caps of Polish Soldiers. Polish chickens actually are not from Poland, but Holland, and arrived in America in the early 19th century. Read more about the Polish Chicken on our Breed Spotlight over on the Meyer Hatchery Blog.
