Meyer Hatchery is excited to offer the Black Split Orpington to Lavender Orpington for a limited time only. The chicks you will receive will be all black and if you breed them together, they will produce 50% split, 25% black, and 25% lavender offspring. If you breed the lavenders together, you will have 100% Lavender Orpington chicks. The Black Split to Lavender Orpington has the same sweet, docile personality that is common to all Orpingtons. They may go broody at times and are good mothers. Orpingtons lay a light brown, medium-sized egg. Read more about the Orpington Chicken on our Breed Spotlight over on the Meyer Hatchery Blog.
