Frizzle Calico Cochin Bantam chicks have about a 50% chance of showing the frizzle presentation. The other 50% will have a smooth feather presentation. It may take up to 3 weeks for the frizzle presentation to appear. The Calico Cochin bantam is a beautiful feather-legged chicken with a buff or light brown base color that features lovely speckles of white, black, and varying shades of brown. The males will be darker in color than the females and appear more solid in color.
Cochin hens are known for their broodiness and make good mothers. If you are looking for a small, friendly chicken breed, this one may be for you! Females will produce 2-3 cream colored eggs weekly. Roosters will weigh about 32 oz and hens about 28 oz.
