IMPORTANT ORDERING DETAILS: Ranger Broiler chicks have a minimum of 15 for ship dates from April 1 to September 30 and 25 from October 1 to March 31. Rainbow, non-GMO Ranger, and Gray Ranger Broilers may be combined to meet the minimum. Gray Ranger Broilers are not able to be picked up as they are sent from our hatching partner. Meyer Hatchery is able to ship the FGRBS to the continental United States and Alaska only and ship weekly on Wednesdays.
Non-GMO Ranger Broilers are a great alternative to the standard Rainbow Ranger Broilers. Are you looking for a meat breed free of genetically modified feed? These chicks are produced from a parent flock of Ranger Broilers who are exclusively fed a strict diet of non-GMO feeds.
Non-GMO Ranger Broilers are ideal for your backyard or homestead with the ability to forage or free-range on pasture. A hatchery choice assortment of Tricolor or Redbro with colors ranging from dark red feathers to a tricolor mix of gold, black, and red feathers. Ranger Broilers have a black tail with yellow shanks, beak, and skin. Chicks will be various colors at hatch.
With a moderate growth rate, the Non-GMO Ranger Broiler is a great option that falls between the fast-growing Cornish Cross and slow-growing heritage breeds. Customers have reported average live weights of 5-6 pounds at the processing time of 9-11 weeks.
Ranger Broilers are a special hybrid that we have fine-tuned over many generations specifically for fast growth rates for meat production. Because they are a hybrid, you cannot cross a male and female Ranger Broiler and hatch out more Ranger Broilers. Additionally, for their own health and well-being, Ranger Broilers should not be kept beyond their processing age of 9-11 weeks.
Your Ranger Broilers will dress out at approximately 68-70% of live weight.
