Chinese Ringneck Pheasants are native to Asia and fossil records indicate they have been around for 2 to 2.5 million years. They were first imported into America in the 1880s and have thrived ever since.
Ringneck pheasants are a beautiful variety of gamebird pheasants and can be raised for many purposes. They are excellent fliers when grown for release or hunting. When grown for market, they provide very fine meat. Their feathers are often used for hatbands, jewelry, and other crafts. These pheasants are also great tools for training bird dogs.
