Our leghorns are a commercial strain selected for their superior performance in laying white eggs. This all-white, streamlined bird will be the most efficient egg producer on your farm. Adult hens weigh approximately 4.5 lbs. Meyer Hatchery's White Leghorns are considered the Industrial type and are the Novagen White strain.

IMPORTANT ORDERING INFORMATION: Meyer Hatchery offers started chickens in limited quantities for shipping or for pick up in Polk, Ohio. Don’t forget to bring a box or other container for transportation from the hatchery to their new home. Click here to read more about our retail store including hours and directions.
We can also ship started birds directly to your local post office. Meyer Hatchery will pack and ship the birds in an approved USPS shipping container, include a gel supplement to keep your birds hydrated in transit, and ship them express for overnight delivery to most locations.
Started chickens are approximately 16-20 weeks of age. They are fully vaccinated, beak trimmed, floor raised, and treated for intestinal worms.
Due to conditions beyond our control; such as feed, environment, or lighting, we are unable to guarantee the production rate and/or start of production of these birds.
