Perfect for Thanksgiving and of course, any other time of year, Meyer Hatchery’s Broad Breasted White Turkeys are the same breed raised by large commercial producers. With the sweet, tender, succulent meat on these birds, you will soon realize why they are called the "Cadillac" of turkeys. Fast growth, good livability, and great feed conversion are some of the highlights of these birds. White feathers give the birds a neater appearance when dressed.
Broad Breasted White Turkeys are typically ready for processing at 16-22 weeks. Broad Breasted Turkeys are a special hybrid that we have fine-tuned over many generations specifically for fast growth rates for meat production. Because they are a hybrid, you cannot cross a male and female Broad Breasted Turkey and hatch out more Broad Breasted Turkeys. Additionally, for their own health and well-being, Broad Breasted Turkeys should not be kept beyond their processing age of 16-22 weeks.
Using the chart below, you are able to estimate purchase time based on the weight you would like to process your turkey at. Processed weight will be roughly 15 - 20% less than weights listed below. These weights are an estimate and are provided for your reference. Meyer Hatchery is not able to guarantee exact results due to conditions beyond our control. Weights can vary depending on feed and husbandry.
