SmartStep Poultry Feeder

Tired of rodents and wild birds helping themselves to your feed? The SmartStep Poultry Feeder may be the answer to your needs. This feeder is available in 2 sizes to hold up to either 26 or 66 pounds of feed at a time depending on the size you select. Your chickens will have access to feed when they step on the weight-activated bar connected to the feeder. This will open the door for them and then close when they walk away. It comes pre-assembled you'll just need to adjust the tension spring to respond to your bird's weight. You can choose from 2.20 lb, 2.75 lb, or 3.30 lb of tension. This feeder works best with crumbles or pellets. Do not use mash. Do not use around small chicks that can get stuck in the feeder.

You'll need to train your birds to use the feeder. Placing a rock or other object on the footplate for a few days will help them learn where the food is.
