Red Broiler Day Old Chicks - Ship Separate
IMPORTANT ORDERING DETAILS: Red Broiler chicks have a minimum of 15 for ship dates from April 1 to September 30 and 25 from October 1 to March 31. White Rangers, Gray Rangers, Red Broilers, and Sasso Broilers may be combined to meet the minimum. Red Broilers cannot be picked up as they are sent from our hatching partner. Meyer Hatchery can ship "Ship Separate" broilers to the continental United States and Alaska only.
Red Broilers are another great alternative to fast-growing Cornish broilers and slow-growing heritage breeds. They are a slower-growing crossbred broiler that are not as susceptible to health issues as the cornish cross broilers are, and feed does not need to be restricted. Developed to have a longer keel and a 70% live to dressed weight yield, Red Broiler chickens are typically ready to be processed by 11-13 weeks of age.
Red Broiler chicks will be mostly feathered and ready to move to their outdoor space in as little as 3-4 weeks of age depending on the climate. Until then, they will need to be kept in a warm, clean, and dry brooder, protected from predators, and supplied with fresh food and water.
The live weight for males is approximately 5-6 pounds and processing weight is typically reached by 11-13 weeks with a 3 lb feed conversion. Red Broilers are yellow-skinned with yellow shanks and red feathers which may have black tips. Males only.
