The Blue Swedish Duck was bred in northern England and Poland and arrived in North America around 1884. They are slow to mature, but make a good meat duck and are also a moderate egg layer and lay mostly white eggs. Blue Swedish Ducks are a very hardy bird due to heritage. Their plumage is uniform bluish slate with some feathers laced in a darker shade. They carry some white on their wings and breast, and males are slightly bigger and darker than females.
Due to our breeding program, Blue Swedish Ducklings will be "blue" and not have splash or black feathering. The shade of blue will vary.
