The beautiful, white Duclair ducks were first developed in France and were named after the city Duclair in Normandy. You can have a fun time in the coop talking to them in your best French accent!
The Duclair duck is a very good multipurpose breed. They’re friendly, calm, active, good at foraging, hardy, poor fliers, good mothers and broodies, and fabulous pets. Overall, they’re a great choice for any backyard duck raiser!
On the production side, Duclairs lay an average of 100-150 white eggs per year! As a table duck, the Duclairs are well known for their rich, elegant flavor and are used by some of the most discerning chefs. Duclair Ducks are processed around 84 days with an average live weight of 6.1 lbs and an average processed weight of 4.3 lbs.
